PACIFIC MANAGEMENT RESOURCES pacmar inc |
Project Summary: This ongoing Project is funded by the Freeman Foundation to the University of Hawaii (UHM) School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene and coordinated by PacMar, Inc. The two-year Project will provide medical faculty teaching nursing at the University of Hue, Vietnam (UHV) with learning equipment and the opportunity to gain skills to improve their ability to teach nursing. In addition, the project aims to begin a long-term relationship with the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene and UHV to foster student and faculty exchanges and future projects.
Project
Outcome: When
completed, the project will
provide the faculty teaching
nursing at the UHV with the
knowledge and support to
independently develop and
teach future nursing
curriculums. They can also
then serve as trainers for
other colleges and
universities in Vietnam.
This “train the
trainer” approach means the
lessons learned by this group
will be shared with others
throughout Vietnam.
The long-term goal is
to develop a cadre of educated
nurses who will assume the
teaching and leadership roles
in academic settings.
A secondary goal is to
establish a relationship
between the UHV and UHM
nursing programs where student
and faculty exchanges could
occur and collaboration on
future projects of mutual
interest and benefit will be
fostered.
