Outcome: Completed
a master plan for an urban center,
that when implemented, will rise
adjacent to Guangzhou Jockey Club
racetrack on the north bank of the
Pearl River. To be built in phases,
Racetrack Center will comprise over
3.6 million square meters of
construction distributed among a
complete spectrum of urban uses.
The project will serve the
city of Guangzhou as a new city
center, offering to local citizens
and foreign visitors an unparalleled
range of international quality
business, tourist, residential, and
cultural facilities and amenities.
In addition, the Racetrack
Center will be responsive to needs
of its residents, providing them
with hospitals and clinics,
educational opportunities ranging
from infant daycare to high school
and adult education, and extensive
public recreational facilities for
the young and old alike.
