Project Summary: PacMar has been conducting tuna quality research and practical training for fishers on quality issues related to skipjack, yellowfin, bigeye, and albacore tuna produced by purse seine and longline vessels.

a severe texture defect in skipjack
tuna and
color defects in albacore tuna.
As a follow-on activity to
the tuna quality research efforts,
PacMar has been conducting a series
of practical training workshops for
the owners, managers and crew of
purse seine, longline and
small-scale longline vessels
supplying tuna to the company
canneries in American Samoa, Puerto
Rico and Ecuador.
